Founder

As Australia’s inaugural National Cyber Security Coordinator, company founder Darren Goldie brings over 30 years of Defence and public sector experience in Australia and overseas.

A pilot by trade, he enjoyed a career flying the Lockheed C-130 Hercules and Boeing P-8A Poseidon aircraft, based from Sydney and Adelaide. He retired from the Australian Defence Force in May 2024.

Aside from the Cyber Coordinator role, his senior leadership appointments included: Air Commander Australia; Assistant Secretary Defence and International Policy at the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet; and managing Air Combat Capability in Defence. 

Darren is an accomplished crisis manager, having participated in real world emergencies and war-games at the highest levels both in Australia and abroad. His experience includes coordinating government responses to national disasters, international military operations and personnel recovery. He has served Australia overseas in Iraq, Afghanistan and throughout the Indo-Pacific.

As a 2017 graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Director’s Course (GAICD), he has Chaired and served on a number of high consequence boards and advisory bodies, including for the Commonwealth, South Australian and New South Wales Governments. He is an adept public speaker and has deep experience working with Australia’s international partners. 

He holds a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Computer Science (UNSW) along with Masters degrees in International Strategy (War College, USA) and Management (UNSW).

Darren shares his time between the Gold Coast and Canberra and is passionate about veteran’s issues.
